Joey Childs Media

Nonprofit websites built by the studio behind Joey’s Toy Drive.

JC Media builds and runs the website, operations platform, and iOS app for Joey’s Toy Drive, a San Jose nonprofit founded in 2012, so we have sat on the other side of this: the donation flow that loses people on step three, the volunteer signup nobody finishes, the annual scramble to make a season’s worth of work legible to donors. We build for that reality rather than for a brochure.

What this industry actually needs

Donation flows with as few steps as possible

Every extra field costs donations. The flow should be short, obviously secure, and work properly on a phone, because most giving happens there.

Volunteer and partner signup that people finish

Recruitment fails at the form more often than at the ask. These need to be short, mobile first, and honest about what happens next.

Photography that shows the work

Nonprofits live on evidence of impact. Real photographs of real programmes, with permission handled properly, outperform stock every time.

Something a volunteer can maintain

If updating the site needs a developer, it stops getting updated. We hand over something your team can actually run.

Common questions

Do you offer nonprofit pricing?
Talk to us. We build and run one, so we are realistic about budgets, and we will tell you honestly what is worth paying for and what is not.
Can you help with the Google Business Profile and local search?
Yes. Nonprofits are eligible for local listings and most of them never claim one.
Can you photograph our events?
Yes, across the Bay Area, including aerial work where it is permitted.

Got something you want built?

Tell us what the business does and what is getting in the way. We will tell you honestly whether it is a fit.
